Internationally, Mors is best known for its stunning moler cliffs, found in the northern part of the island.
The most famous cliff is Hanklit (61?m). Don’t miss the chance to walk to the top and enjoy the breathtaking view over Thisted Bredning and the rolling landscape.
Salgjerhøj is the island’s highest point (89?m) and part of the Flade Bakker area – one of Denmark’s most beautiful and impressive hill formations, offering a 360-degree view over the island and the Limfjord.
Ejerslev Harbour is a lovely spot with a lagoon surrounded by high moler cliffs, and fossil hunting is allowed here. Nearby, you’ll find the Fossil and Moler Museum, which tells 55 million years of history through the many finds made in the moler on Mors. From the museum, you can follow the time trail to the agricultural museum Skarregaard, where time has stood still since 1958. The area is perfect for hiking and lies beautifully by the two Skarresø lakes. There’s also a wonderful nature playground.
South Mors offers peaceful landscapes, small harbours, and proximity to the Limfjord. Here you’ll find Sillerslev Harbour – an active fishing port with one of the island’s best beaches and views of fjord life. To the west lies Thissinghuse, a historic shipping site with charm and access to walking trails by Lake Thissingvig.
Agerø, connected to Mors by a dam, is a paradise for birdwatchers with its large bird reserve and tranquil atmosphere. South Mors also features small villages, local farm shops, and cultural offerings – all in a calm and scenic setting.
Mors offers experiences for everyone – for many days.
