Beschrijving
At the lovingly restored Old Ferry House on Strandvej 27 A in Ballum, history, charm, and Nordic tranquillity come together. Between 1890 and 1920, the building served as an important departure point for travellers crossing to Rømø by boat. Carefully renovated in 2026 with respect for its original architecture, the former ferry house retains its authentic charm while offering stylish interiors and contemporary living. The spacious rooms create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the year, making it ideal for holidays with family or friends.

Nature, open landscapes and the Wadden Sea

Enjoy uninterrupted views across the Wadden Sea towards Sylt and Rømø from the garden or a deck chair. As the sun sets, the landscape is bathed in warm colours. Whether in the conservatory or outside, this is a place to unwind and reconnect.
Relaxation between islands and historic towns
The holiday apartment is a perfect base for walks and cycling through Southern Jutland’s unique nature. The wide paths along the Wadden Sea invite slow exploration of the landscape.
Thanks to its central location, Ballum provides easy access to the islands of Rømø, Sylt, and Mandø. Towns such as Tønder, Højer, and Ribe – Denmark’s oldest town – are ideal for day trips filled with history and Nordic charm. The German border is about 30 kilometres away.
Ballum – The quiet side of Southern Jutland
Ballum is a small, idyllic village in Southern Jutland’s marshland. Traditional Danish houses, wide meadows, and proximity to the Wadden Sea create a sense of peace and authenticity. Here, you can enjoy nature, watch birds, take long walks, or simply relax in the fresh North Sea air.
For those seeking relaxation, open landscapes, and the atmosphere of the Wadden Sea, the Old Ferry House offers a place where everyday life fades away and tranquillity begins.
