Welcome to The Forest Cottage by the Old Iron Spring – a truly charming holiday home full of character, history and a unique location in the heart of the forest, close to the cosy town centre of Sæby. Originally serving as the ticket office for the historic Iron Spring, the house has been carefully renovated with great respect for its authentic atmosphere and original charm.
Here, historic details blend beautifully with bright and inviting living spaces and an almost fairy tale setting surrounded by tall trees and birdsong. The interior is light, cosy and personal, offering a relaxed holiday home atmosphere perfect for unwinding, spending quality time together and enjoying long, leisurely days.
The house features two cosy double bedrooms, while the newly built annex offers an additional comfortable double bedroom. The annex has been designed with great attention to both comfort and ambience, and from the bed you can enjoy wonderful views across the treetops of the forest together with a charming glimpse of the blue horizon of the Kattegat Sea. It almost feels like waking up in the middle of nature as the morning sun streams through the windows.
The property offers two bathrooms. One bathroom is located in the main house, while the second is situated next to the annex. The annex area also features an outdoor shower, perfect after a day at the beach or for enjoying warm summer days under the open sky.
Outside, two lovely wooden terraces await you. Both terraces are furnished with comfortable garden furniture and their own parasol, ensuring you can always find either a sunny spot or a sheltered corner. Enjoy your first cup of coffee of the day while the forest awakens around you and soak up the tranquillity of the beautiful natural surroundings.
The location is truly special. Although the house is peacefully and privately situated in the middle of the forest, there are only approximately 500 metres to the beach, the harbour and Sæby's charming town centre with cafés, restaurants and cosy shops. Here, you enjoy the best of both worlds, peaceful nature right outside your door and vibrant town life just a few minutes walk away.
The Forest Cabin by the Old Iron Spring is particularly suited to adults who appreciate charm, nature, history, and relaxation in truly unique surroundings. This beautifully renovated retreat is set high on a wooded hillside, offering plenty of character and a peaceful atmosphere. From the annex, you can enjoy lovely sea views, while the special location provides a sense of privacy and tranquillity. At the same time, everything Sæby has to offer is just a short walk away.
