THE AREA:
The house is located close to the charming town of Sæby – a historic market town with great shopping opportunities and many sights worth seeing.
The harbor area offers a vibrant maritime atmosphere with sailboats, cafés, small shops, and a popular ice cream parlor.
Sæby celebrated its 500th anniversary as a market town in 2024. In the old town, you’ll find the monastery church, Sæby Mini Town (featuring houses from around 1900), the Coastal Museum, the Sæby Watermill, and several local artisans located along Algade.
On the outskirts of the town, there’s also an attractive 18-hole golf course and the beautiful Sæbygaard Castle – both worth visiting.
The Coastal Museum has branches in Sæby, Frederikshavn, and Skagen, telling the story of life along the coast – past and present. In Sæby, the Mini Town and Castle also add to the local history experience.
About 7 km north lies Frederikshavn, where the Palm Beach is well worth a visit. The Bangsbo area is also a highlight, with a scenic viewpoint, botanical garden, deer park, and excellent hiking and biking trails.
If you continue further north, Skagen offers even more attractions – including Grenen (where two seas meet), the Skagen museums, and for teddy bear fans, a charming little Teddy Bear Museum. Other must-sees include the Grey Lighthouse, the Buried Church, and the migrating sand dune Råbjerg Mile.
Sæby is centrally located in North Jutland and serves as the perfect base for exploring the region’s many attractions.
