THE AREA
The house is located centrally in the town of Sæby, which is well worth a visit. This charming market town offers good shopping opportunities and many attractions. The harbour area with its maritime atmosphere, sailing boats, cafés, shops and ice cream parlours is always lively and inviting.
Sæby celebrated its 500th anniversary as a market town in 2024. In the old town you will find the monastery church as well as several local attractions including Sæby Mini Town with buildings from around 1900, the Coastal Museum, Sæby Watermill and a variety of local artisans around Algade.
On the outskirts of town you will find an attractive 18-hole golf course and Sæbygaard Manor, both well worth a visit.
The Coastal Museum has departments in Sæby, Frederikshavn and Skagen and tells the story of life along the Danish coast – past and present. In Sæby, both Sæby Mini Town and Sæbygaard contribute to this local history.
About 10 km north lies Frederikshavn, where Palm Beach is well worth visiting. The Bangsbo area also offers great experiences with viewpoints, a botanical garden, deer park and excellent hiking and cycling routes.
Continuing further north you reach Skagen, where Grenen and the Skagen museums are among the highlights. Families with teddy bear fans should not miss the cosy Teddy Bear Museum. Other memorable sights include the Grey Lighthouse, the Sand-Buried Church and the migrating dune Råbjerg Mile.
Sæby is also centrally located for exploring many of North Jutland’s attractions.
